Apr 4, 2020 · I prefer the Klamath hoody as a mid layer versus the furnace. The furnace works well as a tree stand base layer for me but not as a mid layer. The Klamath is a grid fleece where the furnace is a merino base layer. The furnace is a little heavier and doesn’t dry out quite as quickly as the Klamath does. But i said equally featured (although i didn't realize it didn't have pockets). The nano air light is 11oz, compared to the r1 at 12.9oz, or a melly at 12.2oz. The only fleeces i know in the 6-8oz range either don't have a hood/pockets (columbia klamath, rei fleece), or are noticably thinner/less warm (haglofs LIM, ME solar eclipse/trembler).Also love the Klamath hoody. The furnace is nice. I can accomplice the same results by layering different pieces if that makes since. I'd say Wick is a must and kiln and Klamath.
